Faridodin "Fredi" Lajvardi

Fredi received a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Arizona State University and
has been a teacher in the Phoenix Union High School District at Carl Hayden High School for 20 years.
Fredi and his wife, Pamela, have two sons, Bijan and Alex. Alex was the inspiration for the development of this system,
which carries his namesake. Alex was diagnosed with autism at an early age and is nonverbal to this day.
Fredi and Pamela pushed for the development of Alexicom with Dr. Karen Suhm, a friend of the family and volunteer mentor for
the Falcon Robotics team where Fredi coaches. Further system developments brought in Staci Neustadt and Marti Baio
for their vast speech therapy experience.
The Lajvardis passionately desire to fill the large gaps and reduce the high costs of
the fixed augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems available to the parents of autistic children.
Their work in developing a system that reduces the cost to practically nothing and provides availability
to anyone anywhere is revolutionary in the "world" of assistive speech devices.
